This course is designed for the ambitious, passionate language learner who dreams of one day becoming fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
The extra 10 hours of class time will ensure that students master the material presented and have ample opportunities to practice speaking during class (while benefiting from immediate feedback). The Master of Tones curriculum will cover Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, tones and the Pinyin romanization system, as well as an introduction to writing and reading Chinese characters.
Students will master Mandarin pronunciation and the four tones -- one of the most difficult parts of learning Chinese. They will also feel comfortable reading simple passages and introducing themselves in Mandarin.
